Here is a short description for the book:
A young woman, named Aileen moves to a dance academy with her three cousins, Ferris, Fiona and Ciar in Dublin. The cousins involve themselves in new experiences, for they grew up in a remote part of Ireland. As they settle into their lives, the people around them see that the four cousins are beyond naturally gifted dancers. They move in elegance, grace, mystery and divine beauty like swans. Some of their classmates become enthralled with their exquisiteness, dance and supernatural attributes that spellbound them in different ways.
Aileen gets caught up in her new-found life, finding love and her swan song. Each one of the cousins have a secret hiding away from another. Aileen’s love life becomes a division that soon circulates to a chain of events that connects each one of her cousin’s down a different path. Aileen follows her swan song and it brings her to choose between two men, she has fallen for. At the same time, a deep-rooted darkness from her family’s ancient past about their origins soon befalls them and creates a dark swan amongst them. Now the light and dark must come out in a special dance to save or destroy the family from within and the love that is found.
Here is a short except from the book:
The sun poured through the windows of the dance room brimming with pastels and mirrors surrounding the molds in the studio room. Small items laid on the floor such as a water bottle, towelettes, a towel and extra shoes burned on the bottoms. The drapes flew boldly as the wind came into the room covering Aileen who was wearing a light cream yellow top and dance pants covering her frame. In the blinking of the refracted light, a swan’s shadow graced the walls for a brief second. Aileen moved in her positions back and forth. Her hair was dressed on the top of her hair in a bun. She moved back and forth with her arms exceling the rhythm of ballet. Her heart beat faster as the lights of the sun radiated along her skin creating a hue. She sighed then stopped as she looked around to see no one in the room. She pointed her feet in position and moved back taking the full weight of her first position then onto the second and third with grace. She angled her hands up and down as moved with the classical music bouncing off the walls with Tchaikovsky in the background. Aileen moved somewhat turning in her positions fourth and fifth position moving her feet back and forth.
The door opened with a tall man with scruffy face of unruly sideburns, black mid-length wavy hair and a lean figure. He stood tall against the frame by six-two and captivating light cerulean eyes. He wore a white long dress straight with black slacks and pointed ballet shoes. He crossed his arms glancing at the swan as he thought before him. He was entranced by her dedication to listening to Tchaikovsky.
Aileen was too lost into the music to notice the man in the room. She was drawn to the music that painted her soul like memories about to fade. She stimulated her arms back and forth. Aileen moved her feet into the grand allegro for fast movements and direction. She continued to dance finding the rhythm angling her mind. The man soon danced over to her countering her movement with his in a pas deux with her. They movements steadied and complimented one another as the calmness of the lakes. A rushing river tide splurged over them as the gentle waters called to them. Her eyes observed up at him and then an instant connection called to her. His eyes flickered with her instant connection building up. They moved fluidly with one another dancing in unison as they had known each other forever. As the song ended they paused in their movements and glimpsed at one another taking in each other’s beauty.
